The original church was built in the latter half of the 12th century. It consisted of a single nave closed off by a semicircular apse. Some time later, between the 16th and 17th centuries, several buildings were added to the Epistolary (right) side. These include the sacristy and the chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary in the first phase, along with the portico which shelters the Classicist doorway and the rectangular tower with a spiral staircase attached to the outside.

The interior has a barrel vault which covers the nave and which is made of wood with plaster finishing. However, the apse has a quarter sphere vault. In the chancel there is an noteworthy Romanist portrait of St Martin.

The side chapel of Our Lady of the Rosary houses the two most interesting pieces, the altarpiece and the carving of Christ. The altarpiece is of great artistic and historical interest as the outstanding quality of the workmanship reflects the all-pervading influence of the Romanist sculpture workshops of the nearby town of Sangüesa, in Navarre. The carving of Christ dates from the second half of the 16th century and may have been carried out by Aragonese craftsmen. It stands out for its naturalist nature, the careful detail of the anatomy and the expressiveness of the facial features.
