"Subterranea", the Villanúa Caves Visitors' Centre, was inaugurated in July 2009. The concepts governing the choice of contents for the centre attempt to put into practice the latest trends and theories on how to explain heritage sites. This together with a broad selection information technology and communication resources, make this one of the most modern, dynamic and attractive visitors’ centres in Aragón. A visit to the Centre is the perfect complement to a guided tour of the “Las Guixas” (Witches) Cave. Its main aim is to help visitors understand its geological characteristics, its history of human habitation and the processes that led to the formation of this unique space.

“Subterranea” has an exhibition on the history of Villanúa in its main entrance area. A multi-purpose hall offers an interesting film on the main geological and natural characteristics of the Collarada massif. Other audio-visual displays, such as a tactile screen which allows the visitor to experience a virtual visit, an experiment table and several internet connections make up the socio-cultural space on the first floor, which also includes the Villanúa Tourism Office.

The basement , also a subterranean space, houses a successful recreation of the main points of interest within the “Las Güixas” Cave. The centre is suitable for children and adapted for special needs.
